Dementia is the term for all neurological conditions that effect brain functioning and impairment of daily functions of a person. Most people talk about Dementia and Alzheimer’s as the same concept and that is fine, as long as people understand the seriousness of the neurological condition.
Dementia is a general term for the impaired ability to remember, think, or make decisions that interferes with doing everyday activities. Alzheimer's disease is the most common type of dementia. Though dementia mostly affects older adults, it is not a part of normal aging.
There will be a drastic decline in mental capability which will get worse as time goes by, except if it is Parkinson’s disease, which mostly only affects the muscles of a patient.
